About Slowness
Nurtured by the idea of slow and conscious living, Slowness is a space where subtlety is appreciated; where idleness, silence and introspection is celebrated. Slowness is not just a permaculture farm but also at its core a lifestyle that is pillared on the idea of the “tempo giusto—the right speed”. We believe that one must be a master of their own pace, that fast is not the only way to reach the destination.
Slowness is designed to provide ample space and time for each of its inhabitants. With a mini Oak forest, a pear orchard, kitchen gardens and a food forest in the making, it’s ideal for a slow-paced vacation. Here we redefine sustainable holiday for the conscious traveller, extending the luxury of connection with Mother Earth, the community and oneself.

Food
“We are what we eat.” – Ludwig Feuerbach
Slow Food means fresh, local & seasonal food. Food that is grown sustainably, cooked slowly and enjoyed joyously. We at Slowness believe that food not only fills our bellies but nourishes our souls.
We strive to grow our own food and what we don’t grow we acquire it from farmers in our village or buy it from local markets. We serve delicious vegetarian food which consists of local recipes, homemade pickles, breads and foraged wild treasures. The slow philosophy extends to the dining table where meals are leisurely and lingering affairs filled with stories and laughter. We change the menu every few months to bring seasonal ingredients to your plate.
Natural Dyeing
“These crafts are best practised slowly. Like meditation and contemplation. Let your head feel and your heart free. Touch the fibres. Dip your fingers in the dye bath. Create something unruly or notorious. Or something articulate. There are no wrongdoings. Express yourself.”
The art of Himalayan Natural Dyeing is researched, revived and introduced to novice/advanced dyers at Slowness, through a series of workshops and interactive sessions. Our sacred studio space has mothered ideas, knowledge and art over the years. We forage raw materials from the farm and bow down to ancient Indian methods of Natural dyeing. For a 4 day intensive introduction to Natural dyeing, write to us at naturaldyeing@slowness.in
